"Are independent" / action
The new art of the new country 1991-2011
at the National Cultural and Arts and Museum Complex "Mystetsky Arsenal"

"INDEPENDENT" - this is the first in Ukraine attempt to identify a large scale phenomenon of Ukrainian contemporary art that was born along with a new country.

The exposition will be based on certain blocks, each of which will characterize the phenomenon of cross-cutting Ukrainian contemporary art, which appeared in the search for Ukrainian artists of the new visual language and identity issues for two decades:

REALITY VS Phantasm - as a feature of Ukrainian contemporary art, where reality is always a chimeric and appears with the other effects or implications.

DIALOGUE WITH SCREEN - as an influence on the creative thinking of artists, when painting the plane had to be established to accept the realities of new media world, which is reflected in a number of videos, photographs, performances, and actually painting a picture.

SOCIAL VIEW / POLICY REAGENT - reflect important social and political realities for which the artists reacted 1991-2011 gg.

HISTORY AND MYTH - present a "new mythology" and redefining history.

Beyond the - bright phenomena that are outside the usual art system.

The "Independent" will be attended by some 125 authors. Exposure of the project will occupy the first floor "Mystetskogo Arsenal," the total area of ??10,000 sq.m. After the exhibition the viewer will have a holistic view of modern Ukrainian art. Will be presented all the typical types, genres and technologies that were and are in the arsenal of Ukrainian modern art.
